Last week was a fun week. We started off with taking our dear friends Susie and Korey out for dinner for their 35th Anniversary. We ate at Bella Luna and had a wonderful meal.

I thought it was quite appropriate that we as couples matched in our clothes color choices. The funniest part about it was that none of us had planned it that way. I think that John and I look like we were photoshopped into the picture.

I am still working on a couple of different crocheted pieces that I can’t show you yet. We also had Megan this week and when I found out that she had misplaced her sleeping mask, I felt I needed to replace it. I found this pattern on Repeat Crafter Me’s blog.

She loves it and says that it feels better than the one she lost. Of course that makes me feel happy.

On Friday, my friend Rayma stopped by the office to drop off a piece of flannel for me to crochet around. Rayma was very surprised to see that I had brought all of my leftover crocheted things from the Kansas Barn Sale and had them on display for her to shop. Rayma picked out this hat for herself and a few other items for gifts.

When I arrived home from work on Friday I found my little Megan sleeping and when I checked on her she had a low grade temperature. I’m happy to report that she was only sick that night and was feeling better on Saturday.

Friday night was my company Christmas party and there were quite a few people that celebrated 5, 10, 15, and one 20 year anniversaries. This is me as I was making my way up to accept my award.

I bet you can’t guess who was the 20 year recipient? My supervisor had written a nice speech about me and towards the end….can we say she had everyone fighting back tears. And if you know me, I had them running down my face. I was so happy that I stayed composed enough to say, “I want to thank the academy for this award.” LOL It was very nice to be honored and I was humbled by all the kind things that everyone had to say to me.

John and I had breakfast out at Emilie’s and afterwards I stopped by the quilt shop to pick up some more yarn that I needed to finish one of those larger projects that I’ve been working on and to pick out some thread to go on the flannel blanket that Rayma had wanted me to crochet around the edge.

I chose Garden in lace weight and size 3 to edge this fun piece of flannel and I think the red makes the red pop in the fabric. I love working with this thread and I love how the little blanket turned out.

Susie and Korey renewed their wedding vows and it was great that their minister that married them was able to officiate at this ceremony as well.

I loved being a part of this wonderful 35th year celebration and I’m so grateful to have them as our friends.

Such a sweet couple, who have raised 4 wonderful daughters and now are enjoying many grandchildren. Susie and Korey we love you and wish you all the best.

Sunday morning John and I had breakfast at Village Inn and made it there just in time to beat the big crowd.

I can’t believe that I started an afghan on Sunday. It must have been because the weather was dreary and rainy? I love the way it is turning out now, but let’s check back on this in a few days and see how much I like it then. This may be one of those things that gets put away and drug back out, we will see? If I am figuring correctly it will take 10 skeins of yarn that have 425 yards a piece in them. This coming week will be me trying to wrap gifts and get Joshua’s box sent off to him so he will have it before Christmas. So what’s up in your part of the world?
Lovely recap of your week, Tamara! Congratulations on your accomplishment at work! 20 years in today’s economy is quite the feat! I’m sure they love you and your crochet! 🙂 I have been working on a few projects and one of them is a crocheted Santa ornament/gift card holder. I’m hoping to get a photo posted to my blog soon. I found the pattern in Crochet World, December issue. Wish there were more hours in the day sometimes, or the ability to focus without interruption. 🙂 Thanks for sharing all that you share!

High fives for the owl sleep mask and blankets. I’m interested to see how the afghan turns out; if you’re not caught up in another project already. Also, Susie’s dress was so cute!!!
