Monday night my sister had us over for dinner. Joshua spent a lot of time with his Aunt Jackie growing up.

Actually both of my children spent a lot of time with their Aunt Jackie and they both have fond memories of their time with her.

I appreciate my sister so much for helping me and always being there for me when I needed and still need her.

Of course we had a wonderful meal of creamy potato soup and a spinach pasta salad with my sister’s yummy homemade balsamic vinegar dressing. We didn’t have to ask Jennifer twice to hold Miss Sofie while we all ate dinner.

Jennifer has always had a way with babies and that Monday night she quieted Miss Sofie with her calmness and a little rocking.

John made Miss Sofie a little baby ring and finally had the chance to give it to Emilee. The ring reminds me of the one that we placed on Joshua’s finger when he was a baby. I can’t wait until her finger is big enough to wear this one.

Emilee and Joshua are four years apart and they spent a lot of time together when they were very young. I was so happy that Emilee could join us for dinner.

I loved how he felt of her little head and hair. We had a wonderful evening with Jackie, Mark, Emilee, and Miss Sofie.

Tuesday evening, Joshua and I went to his Aunt Andrea’s house for dinner and had a wonderful meal and visited with Andrea and Joshua’s other cousin Maria, who is fours years older also. Joshua also spent a lot of time with Andrea and his cousins Maria and Ben. They were all like brothers and sister. Maria and Ben both live in New York now and were back in Kansas for the Thanksgiving holiday and for their Mother’s 70th Birthday. Ben had already left on Tuesday but Maria wasn’t leaving until Wednesday, so that gave us another chance to visit with them. Sorry, no pictures were taken of the evening. Joshua was to leave on Wednesday and asked if I could break away from work to meet him and his Dad at Tanya’s for lunch. Of course I said yes and we had a great meal before I had to say good-bye to my Chacho Aaron. It’s always hard for me to say good-bye and there are always tears. I miss him so much that my heart hurts. But I am so thankful for the time that we had together and that we have such modern devices to keep in close contact with each other.
Anyway, the rest of the week flew by and Friday night we again joined our dear friends, Korey and Susie for an evening of dinner and dancing. Susie is getting really good at remembering the steps. Now me, I can’t remember them to save my life.

On Saturday I decided to clean up a little bit in Joshua’s room. So John and I worked together to get the bed remade and the curtains put back up to the windows.

I know you probably have been wondering if I have been crocheting, right? Well, you can be assured that I am still crocheting, but I’m working on a couple of large projects that I can’t show you yet but will be sharing them soon. So did you have a great week? I would love to hear all about it.
Sounds like a great week! In that picture with Jackie, the poncho or top you are wearing looks amazing! I also really enjoyed the video. I love dancing like that and haven’t done it in years! The song playing was really catchy! When I lived in CA I went dancing all the time and learned lots of new line dances. When I moved to CO, I couldn’t find any dance places that taught the fun line dances. Go figure. Anyway, thanks for sharing!!

Hi Jeanne! Thank you for loving my poncho and the video. Oh my gosh, I can’t believe how many brain cells it takes to learn 32 steps! Anyway, it was nice to hear that you used to do line dancing. I hope you can find the time to try searching out a place again to take up line dancing again. 🙂 Anyway, thank you so much for being here to comment. You make my day. Love and Hugs, Tamara

Hi Tam! Lovely family photos.
Sweet ring John made for Sofie.
Delicious-looking soups.
Fun video, but I am very disappointed you are not in it! I know, I know, you were filming. Maybe next time you could get someone else to film. 😉
So glad you had these special times with Joshua. So hard having him not living close to home.
Sending some special love your way….

Hi Kat! Thanks so much for loving the photos and the video. I plan on asking one of our husbands to video tape me too, my sciatic nerve has been giving me some fits and at that moment I had bowed out. Thanks so much for the love and understanding about Joshua. Love you, Tamara

So good to see your blog again. Josh looks very happy and especially holding that beautiful Sophie. I enjoyed looking at all the pictures and the ring made by Uncle John is the greatest gift a baby girl could receive. We’ve been extremely busy at this house. With a couple of Christmas parties at our house, drs appointments, my brother John’s farm auction, a funeral yesterday, and two cataract surgeries. Whew, hope I get my shopping done. You get the picture-we overextended ourselves this month. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season. Love you bunches. sw
