Megan decided that she just wanted a few people over for her birthday and that included me (Gran Gran) and Poppy. Jennifer made an amazing bunch of grilled meats and veggies. Jennifer has become a grill master and I love it when she invites us over for a meal. Thank you Jennifer and Megan for having us over for your 13th Birthday. Love you both.

I have to brag about my niece Angie and her little crafty company called Little Yellow Chair. Angie is the lovely lady on the right. At the end of September she had a booth at the Fall Cricket Alley Craft Show.

Of course I especially love this desk and I know you all know why. Anyway, I wanted you all to know that Little Yellow Chair and Angie will be at the Unique Antique Market this coming Sunday, October 18, 2015 with some really cool things that she has redone. The market is at the Sedgwick County Extension Center located at Ridge Road and 21st St. The market will be held from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. I’m looking forward to seeing all the cool things that Angie has come up with for this market.

Now on to the days before the barn sale. I took off work a few days before the sale and had my hair done by my amazing hair stylist, Bri. I decided that I wanted to have turquoise for my little bit of hair color this time. I also got pampered by Miss Liley who made my nails pretty with turquoise enamel with sparkles.

Of course John always has to make his faces when he first sees my hair after I get it cut and colored.

I love to see his reaction and I have reassured him that I’m still the same person no matter what my hair color is, so he’s ok with it. 🙂

I loved the time that I had before and after the barn sale, because I was able to spend it with my little Megan and John. Here we are having a late lunch at Emiliee’s. I love Megan’s fish lips, I laugh every time I see this photo.

The day before the barn sale we reserve a motel room for two nights so that we can relax and do some pre-setup on the day before, then we stay all night after the barn sale. Last year and this year our dear friends Susie and Korey stayed at the same motel the night before the sale and then they shop the sale the day of.

Here we are enjoying a relaxing soak in the hot tub. We always have such a wonderful time with Susie and Korey, and this year was no different.

I was asked by my sister when I might be satisfied with having enough crocheted items for the booth,

and I told her that I am never satisfied with how many items I have and I seem to always make just one or two more things the morning of the sale.

and the other part of the back table. I liked this one because I can see myself in the mirror, over there on the left. HAHAHAHAHAHA

It worked so well that John doesn’t seem to mind that he had to rearrange his shed in order to store it.

I loved seeing all the shoppers waiting in line and the headlights of cars coming into the barn sale.

Here’s another one of my dear friends; Katherine who I met after I started following her blog and found out through my South African friend Jill that Katherine actually lived near me and told us that we should meet up. We did and we have stayed in contact ever since. I loved that she picked out this fun headband for her Crochet by Tamara purchase. Thank you Katherine and we must get together soon.

This lady came into my booth with the cowl around her neck that she had purchased in one of the other crochet booths. When she found this hat that matched she couldn’t resist buying it. I’m so happy that she wanted it.

Here is a returning customer from last year. I love that her Momma looked me up and we found just the right hat for you.

This is a new friend that I met at the motel where we stayed. She saw me crocheting in the lobby the night before the sale and searched for and found me the day of the sale. Debbie couldn’t resist taking the giant owl pillow home with her to Denver. It was wonderful meeting Debbie and her traveling companions. They assured me that they would be back next year too.

Hello Cindy! That peachy salmon infinity scarf looks amazing on you and I am so happy that you loved it enough to purchase it from me.

Oh my goodness, this lovely lady tried this hat on and I told her that it looked like it was made just for her. She left without it and came back later and was pleased to see that it was still there. She looked adorable and I was happy that she left with it on her head the last time.

This little guy was so cute and I loved that he wrinkled up his nose when I took the picture. Cutest fox ever.
Wow so much crochet loveliness. Love the hair.

Tamara,
I love all your pictures of the barn sale. I’m sure it is very satisfying to you to see people wearing your creations. The lady with the red hair who wanted the hat?…….Her name is Vanessa, I worked with her for several years. She is beautiful and she has a photographic memory. Her picture brought back many memories.

Megan is 13!! NO WAY!!! (A belated Happy Birthday to your teenage granddaughter!!)
I like Angie’s redone furniture too!
Really enjoyed all your photos. I’d love to see both before **and after** pics of your area!
That adorable little gal with her owl hat .. her eyes are as big & wide-open as the owl’s. LOL! So cute!!
What a riot for that woman to find a hat to match her cowl (ashamedly bought at a different booth – hahaha!!).
And the wrinkled-nose little guy .. perfect with his fox hat! 🙂
I gotta ask — sell (m)any tutus?
Thanks for sharing your fun day with us. Looks like the weather was great!

Hi Kat! Oh my gosh I never even thought about taking pictures of my booth after. But I will have to think about that next time. I think I’m so exhausted by that time that I don’t even remember anything. 🙂 Sad to say, I didn’t sell any tutus. But no worries I will sell the rest of my items clear through Christmas here and there. I carry two suitcases around with me and pull them to sell from my trunk. I call it my trunk sale. 🙂 HAHAHAHAHA Love you, Tamara

Hi Tam! I bet John would be happy to take an “after” pic. I wish I’d thought of it sooner.
I am shocked that no one bought a tutu for their little girl or granddaughter. Ya just never know, huh?
Happy trunk $ale$……… 🙂
Love ya! ~ Kat
