Kansas Barn Sale Pre-Booth Setup

Every year around this time I ask John if he will set up the canopy and the tables so that I can set up the booth for the Kansas Barn Sale. Previous years I have set it up in my living room, the driveway, and at my sisters house in her basement. This year I decided to put it in the backyard. It worked great. I loved how it took on the look of the real booth, since it was outside.

This is one of my ideas that has been in my head for a long time. The other day I had to try my hand at it or I couldn't go on. Does anyone else ever get this way with their creations? Anyway, this will be a one-of-a-kind tutu skirt at the Kansas Barn Sale fitting a size 2 child.

This one-of-a-kind skirt tutu has been in my head for a long time. It’s made with purple wide elastic and I have crocheted over the top of it and added a few rows of crochet to hold the tulle. The other day I had to try my hand at it or I couldn’t go on. Does anyone else ever get this way with their creations? Anyway, to say the least I did it and really don’t want to make another one so, this will be the only tutu skirt at the Kansas Barn Sale; fitting a size 2 child. 😉

I can't believe how smooth the setup went, as I was more relaxed this time and not so snippy (grouchy) with John's suggestions. I love that he suggested this little table that fits sweetly under the mirror for ease of choosing just the right hat or scarf.

In setting up the booth and the new turquoise peg board display case I found that I DON"T HAVE ENOUGH STUFF made.

In setting up the booth and now having the new turquoise peg board display case I found that my booth looks a little sparse. Now I DON”T THINK I HAVE ENOUGH STUFF made.

Ok. I'm freaking out a little bit, but think that by the time that the sale comes along I will have enough stuff that the tables and the display case will be fuller.

I love the way all of my things look hanging on the pegboard.

I will probably be very scarce here at Crochet with Tamara, as my fingers fly through the yarn. But I will be thinking about all of you and wonder what is up with all of you. Have a great rest of the week.

P.S. My son wants me to tell all of you that I am now on Instagram, he says he knows that you want to follow me there: #crochetwithtamara 🙂

  3. Oh wow, I was thinking of how much you made and now you say you think you didn’t make enough! Consolidate is what I think. Don’t break your fingers trying to do more. I would hate for you to mess up your hands pushing yourself too much. Your work is beautiful!

    • Thanks so much Jeanne! Believe it or not I am resting when my fingers and hands get tired. But I still need to make more to fill in some of the gaps. Thanks so much for loving my things and for stopping by to tell me. Love and Hugs, Tamara

  4. Holy guacamole, Tamara! I got a good laugh out of your saying you don’t think you have enough to sell .. ‘cuz there I was, getting ready to say: “I’ll bet a lot of people ask you, in amazement: ‘You made ALL this!??!!!’ ” 😀
I think it is good to have some ‘space’ between items .. easier to look at, IMO, than when it is too crowded together.
I’M SO EXCITED that you are finally on Instagram!!! Woo-hoo!!!! It’s about time, lady!! 😀
    Shmug!! (aka: SHMooches & Hug!)

    • Thank you Kat for the encouraging words, but I still need to fill in some spaces. I will keep plugging away one piece at a time until the day of the sale. I agree with you about overcrowding but there are so many gaps that I feel very uneasy (but of course I always feel this way just before the sale). 🙂 Love and Hugs, Tamara
