Spending Time with Family and Friends

1We spent Thursday evening at my Mom’s house. It was so nice that Angie, Jackie, Aunt Marthie, Aunt Martha Ann, Jean, John, Jennifer, Megan, Rian, Kim, Matt, Ella, and Adleigh were there to welcome Joshua. I loved making goulash and garlic bread for everyone and they all seemed to love it. Mom made 4 different kinds of vegetables; her famous creamed carrots, green beans, squash, and broccoli. It was a feast made for a king. I was pleased to see Joshua make Velveeta shells and cheese for especially for Rian since she is such a picky eater. 😉 It looks like he paid close attention to how I always try to provide for even the pickiest of eaters when it comes to fixing dinner. And that makes this Momma very happy. Mom was very happy to see Joshua and I loved how she kept telling him so.

10My little Megan made her Uncle Joshua a sign welcoming him back to Kansas and how much she missed him. She even made him a birdhouse. She was so cute following him around and sitting by him all evening.

The evening was spent playing Shanghai Rummy and enjoying each others company. Looking forward to the weekend and maybe hanging out with Joshua a little more. I also want to visit the Common Threads Quilt Show at Century II on Saturday. I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and weekend. 🙂

  1. Love your family pics and stories, as usual. Goulash = one of my favourites. Megan is so cute! Glad your mom was able to make food, that sounds very positive. xxx

  2. Lovely to see you all so happy. Have a great weekend. Hoping to go strawberry picking and making strawberry shortcake myself.

    • Thanks so much Cathy. I used to love picking strawberries when I was a child, brings back good memories. Have a great one.

  3. Great times, sweet family!

  4. Thanks for sharing your sweet family and stories. Happy for you that Joshua came home for a visit. Your mom looks great in the photos! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  5. Well, Tamara!! I can see Joshua has made a lot of people very happy!
Love the pic of him & Megan, where he’s holding up her homemade card.
The ‘backwards’ one where he looks like he just got off a horse! 😀
And the final pic is a real winner … His facial expression is priceless as he clownfully looks at the gorgeous blue-eyed gal. 🙂
Great weekend for ya!! (sorry it has ended now)
    Love you!!!
