It’s Friday Again! Sharing Joshua’s Visit Home

1a

I am so glad that it’s Friday; but what’s new…..right? I am looking forward to the weekend as usual and I will be teaching a Crochet 102 class on Saturday with 7 students. Not much going on here other than that, but I somehow forgot to share with all of you the photos of Joshua’s visit last month so here goes. Joshua’s friend Josh was at the airport to greet Joshua as he arrived.

John’s first sight of Joshua…..can I get an AWWWWWW?

Aunt Jackie stopping by to see Joshua on the way home from decorating for my niece Emilee’s wedding.

We went to pick up Megan and surprise her with having Joshua with us. Can I get another AWWWWW?

This is one of Joshua’s favorite waitresses from his childhood. Her name is Glenda and she works at Town and Country restaurant. When Joshua was around 7 he got a portable cd player with headphones. He would carry them everywhere we went and seemed to have a permanent crease in his hair from the hard headphone strap. Anyway, when we ate at Town and Country, and Glenda was working, she always made it a point to stop by our table to talk to us but mostly to Joshua. Glenda told him how she mowed yards in the neighborhood to make extra money so that she could go on her vacations and said that she liked to listen to music too. She thought that headphones would probably be pretty cool to have. Joshua decided when he got a new pair of headphones he would give Glenda his old ones; so that’s just what he did and as far as I know she still has them.

Next stop was Grandma Kingery’s house; because Joshua wanted to play Shanghai Rummy with her. So I made the dinner and took it up there; I still can not believe that I didn’t get a picture of Joshua and his Grandma. My Aunt Marthie and Uncle Buell were in town as well but didn’t get any photos of them with Joshua either. 😦

I asked some of his friends to come over for dinner and in the back of my mind I had an ulterior motive for doing so. I thought I could keep him at home longer; but I forgot that as Joshua has grown up so have his friends and his friends have cars and little apartments of their own (Rian and Megan (friend) no longer live with their parents). So shortly after dinner they took Joshua with them to their houses. I was just happy that we got to have Joshua here while he was sleeping and I also had the opportunity to wake him in the morning. 🙂

My Megan took every opportunity she had to hold onto Joshua….another AWWWW moment. 😉

Joshua was here from Thursday afternoon to Tuesday afternoon and on Monday we gathered for lunch at Tanya’s Soup Kitchen.

It was such a short visit but we tried to make every moment count. Before I turned around it was time to say good-bye! No matter how old he gets it doesn’t get any easier to say goodbye to him. Now that I’ve bored you with all of these pictures; I hope each and every one of you have a wonderful weekend, I know I am.

Thanks, Tamara, for sharing your loving family memories with us. I know how difficult it is to say “see ya later” to Joshua at the ends of his visits. And not having him *with* you each moment is tuff too. Gonna get used to it? I don’t think so!

And now …. IT IS FRIDAY!!!! Have a super weekend!!
    Love ‘n Hugs ~
