It’s My Birthday Today and a Little Update

Ok I thought I would mention that it’s my birthday today. Last year I didn’t mention my birthday until it was already over and some people wished I would have told them so there you go; IT’S MY BIRTHDAY. I know, right? You probably want to know if I hate having my birthday so close to Christmas and I always tell everyone, “No”. My Mom always tried to make our birthdays special no matter whether mine was close to Christmas or not. I don’t remember having birthday parties or anything like that but I didn’t know any different so it really didn’t matter. Now John tries to do special things for me on my birthday and I think it’s very cute how he tries to surprise me by getting people together and he thinks he’s so sneaky. There have only been a couple of times that he actually has been able to surprise me, because he is just not good at keeping secrets. He makes me laugh. I think he’s trying to surprise me again this year by having a few people gather at a restaurant tonight. I’ll make sure I keep you all informed about that. I also want to wish two of my friends Marla and Jodi a very Happy Birthday today.

Now for the update; Monday night we had our crochet guild Christmas party and all went very well. We had 28 people total and it’s always fun to get the morning and the evening group all together. It really wore me out though. I managed to finish up a few penguin hats for people that wanted them before Christmas.

Then I got another last minute order from one of my co-workers who has ordered hats for his daughters last year and again this year. I just couldn’t turn him down. His daughter goes to K-State, so he asked if I could make a Hello Kitty with the school colors of purple, gray, and white.

When I was almost done with the Hello Kitty another friend of mine asked if I could make an owl hat for a Christmas gift. Once again I couldn’t turn my friend down. This is the last hat that I think I’ll be making before Christmas; although my Megan asked me not too long ago, “Gran Gran? I don’t want to rush you or anything but you promised that you would make me an owl hat.” As you probably already know I’m such a sucker for her little blue eyes pleading for an owl hat that most likely she will find one all wrapped up for her to open on Christmas day. Really what else do I have to do? By the way if you are interested and if you are still reading; I turn 56 today. I love you all and hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
