Well, it doesn’t look like I got much done in the way of crocheting, but that’s because I haven’t had time to do much crocheting. Monday we had our KS My Stitch guild meetings and it seems like I don’t get much accomplished during the meetings (imagine that?). Look who popped into our meeting, it was so nice to see Stephanie and it is always fun catching up with what she has been doing since we last saw her. I loved her chenille scarf and how the yarn already had those pom-poms on it. During our meeting we voted on officers for next year. I thought maybe someone would vote me out but it didn’t happen, so I’ll be President again next year along with Kaye as Vice President, Donna as Secretary, and Susie as Treasurer. It was great seeing all of my crochet friends again and learning what each one of them had been doing during the month. This month we didn’t have a program so we could work on anything we wanted to.
I remembered to add the crocheted flower to the cute pink owl hat and
managed to start on this little sock monkey hat and then finished it up Tuesday morning before heading off to work.
Tuesday I caught up with the KS My Stitch crochet teachers who have volunteered their time to teach some of the women at Treehouse. We also delivered over 100 hats, scarves and gloves to Treehouse for their Christmas gift giving. When the Treehouse ladies asked if we could help out again this year some of the members and non-members jumped at the chance to help out the Treehouse. Little did I know back in September how charitable this lovely group of women really are, when it came down to it they grabbed their hooks, yarn, patterns and went to town creating scarves and hats to be ready by Thanksgiving. Some of the ladies didn’t want to make scarves but wanted to make hats, and then other ladies didn’t want to make hats but wanted to make scarves so they each paired up to make sets of hats and scarves to match and even with a few weeks to spare. I’m very proud to be a part of such a charitable group of women and will be glad to serve as President again in 2013. My boss even let me take off work for a short time to join the crochet lesson, to present the hats and scarves, and have lunch with Kaye, Lucy, and Susie. All of this makes me smile! 🙂
Tuesday night was spent teaching one student to crochet a hat. I can’t wait to see Amanda’s hat since she caught on very fast and I know she’ll finish it up by next week’s lesson. This is my hat that I made yesterday, next week I will show Amanda how to sew a flower onto the hat.
Now it’s time to get ready for Thanksgiving. Spending time with family and friends at my Mom’s will be lots of fun and sad at the same time. Even though there will be a few missing faces it should be a happy time. Although it’s hard for me to think about my Joshua staying in New York again by himself; I know that it’s the best thing for him to do so that he can work while he’s out on his break from school. I wonder what will happen this year at Mom’s? Last year the guys cut a tree down that had died; you never know what will happen this year. 😉 So what are your plans? Are you preparing a big feast or spending quiet time at home and having your big day on another day?
Wishing you a happy thanksgiving, have a wonderful family and food time 🙂

Hi Jill!
Thank you for the Thanksgiving wishes and I hope yours is Happy as well. I wish you could join my big family just one time to see what it would be like to be to a large family get together. I’m afraid that you would probably run the other way screaming and pulling your hair out. 😉 Just kidding.
Love and Hugs,
Tamara

Love your hats (especially the monkey hat) and yes it is cool that you give to the Tree house so they can give them as gifts. I know holidays at your Mom’s is absolutely wonderful and lots of food. John and Amber and the kiddos are coming to our house tomorrow and the girls and their families are coming in the afternoon. Love it when my kids and grandchildren are home. My oven is completely gone so I will have to bake everything in the dutch ovens outside. Thank heavens Jerald smoked brisket and ribs a few weeks ago so that will be our meat for Thanksgiving. Have a great Thanksgiving and don’t forget I love you. sw

Hi Sue,
I’m so glad that your kids are all going to be able to join you for Thanksgiving. I know you will have a great time. Thank goodness you know how to cook in those dutch ovens, man I don’t know what I would do without an oven. Oh by the way thanks so much for being here to comment and for loving me.
Love you too!
