Crochet Update

I bet you all have been wondering what’s on my hooks; or not? But as you already may have figured out; I’m going to tell you anyway. 😉

This week I have been crocheting another Shoulder Sack Purse and this time I used Sugar-n-Cream, Lion Brand, and Patons washcloth cotton yarn. Wow, I can’t believe how big the bag turned out. I do love all the colors that I used and I hope that someone else will like it as much as I do.

I’m thinking about adding a fabric lining and a big loop and big button closure to it too. I really like Amy Butler’s Disco Flower print from her Soul Blossoms collection. You can find Amy Butler on Facebook here to find out what’s going on in her part of the world. What do you think?

Then as I was finishing up the crochet part of the very large colorful bag I wondered what the bag would look like small.

Can I have everyone say A-W-W-W-W-W-W-W? Don’t you just love how tiny things are so much cuter?

Here we are again at the end of the week and I’m looking so forward to this 3-day weekend and hoping to accomplish a few more crochet projects. So what’s on your hooks, needles, sewing or crafting table these days? Are you ready for the weekend? Love you all!

  1. I love love love your shoulder sack, whatever size. Don’t know if I mentioned this before but it gave me the idea to make a bag of my own. No pattern, no nothing, I just dove in. I’m on the second side and making it up as I go along and it will probably be okay in the end but a pattern would be good. Did you make yours from a pattern that you purchased? (in which case, please point me in that direction!) or did you make yours up yourself? In which case, would you consider making the pattern available for me, and anyone else who wants, to purchase? 🙂 It’s really stunning, and would happily buy your design from you. 🙂

    • Hi Jill,

I’m so glad that you like the bag no matter what size it is. 🙂 I can’t wait to see your bag all done. I would love to share the pattern with you; check your email. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

      Love and Hugs,
      Tamara

  2. Love your new shoulder bags and especially like the small one. I can see it used not only as a childs bag but also a make-up bag or a small sewing bag. Love your ideas. I finished judging the two fairs yesterday and now I need to get ready for our fair next week and the many responsibilites that I have with it. Have a great week girl. Luv you. sw

    • Hi Sue,

Thanks so much for liking the bags. I thought the small bag would make a cute childs bag or just for putting a wallet, cell phone, sunglasses case, keys. Not too much 😉

When I grow up I would like to do some judging of crocheted items. I asked one time how to get involved and one of the judges said that I just need to set aside a time to go with one of them and then volunteeer your time. Sounds easy enough, right? I know it must be a big responsibility and I look forward to adding that to my to-do list.

Thanks so much for sharing a piece of your world with me and have a wonderful weekend as well.

      Love you Cuz,
      Tamara

  3. Tamara,
Love both bags but especially the little one. If I carry a big bag I fill it up and then my back and hip hurt. Anyway, was wondering if you ever used any of the Omega Espiga nylon cord for your bags? I have one bag I had ordered a kit for and it has stayed so nice, Lucy and I saw some bags in Scott City that the nylon cord had been used on and they were so pretty. I know Hobby Lobby used to have some but not much.. There’s a website at http://www.hilosomega.com.mx. Oh, how’s your back? Hope it’s much better.
    Love ya, Kaye

    • Hi Kaye,

Thanks for liking my bags and I agree the smaller bag will be much better for backs and hips. 🙂 No, I have never used the nylon cording. I think it would hurt my hands too bad but I think they would be very durable and pretty too. Thanks for the suggestion and the link. Regarding my back it’s a little better than it was on Monday, a little more tolerable. Thanks so much for stopping by to comment.

      Love you,
      Tamara
