Deciding on What to Crochet Next, Another Cell Phone Case and Vintage Hot Pad Dress

I know it may not seem like it; but sometimes I just don’t know what to make next. When those times come around I usually go for a drive, or walk around in my yard, or look through old and new magazines, yesterday I cruised through my Vogue Knitting Crochet magazine and found some really fun inspiring crochet pieces. Like this beautiful Rowan ad, now doesn’t that just make you want to start crocheting a shawl?

It does me too but I have so many works in progress (WIP’s) that I can’t think about starting one more yet. But it was fun looking through the magazine and as soon as I get some of my WIPs completed maybe I’ll make a shawl?

While I was deciding on what to work on next I made another cell phone case. This time I used a ribbon yarn, held together with a sock weight acrylic yarn. This ribbony cell phone case is a little heavier than the “I Love This Yarn” ones that I made before. But I do love how it turned out and how I was able to use one of my vintage buttons from my button stash.

Then I decided to try my hand at another one of the vintage hot pad dresses. It’s funny but it’s very hard for me to use the same colors that the pattern calls for (pink and white). I couldn’t settle for just two, so I used 5 or 6. I do love the way this one turned out with all those waves of color. I especially like the red and white polka dot fabric covered buttons and how they add just the right pop of color to the little hot pad dress.

Well, I had better get back to working on some of those WIP pieces so that I can eventually start a shawl.
