Well we’ve made it to the end of another week. Yippee! I’m having lunch with my friend Debbie; who I’ve been friends with for well over 40 years. For about 16 years we have gotten together to celebrate our birthdays and this month is Debbie’s. Just last year we decided that we should get together every 3 months to keep better in contact with one another, since my birthday is in December, hers in March and there are too many months in-between that we don’t see each other. You should see us; I feel like I’m 12 again when I’m with her, I never get tired of talking with her and reminiscing.
I wanted to take this time to thank all of you for being here to read about my ramblings 3 times a week. I love how my WordPress lets me know how many people read or visit my blog every day so I know that not just my cousins and sister read my posts. 🙂 Anyway, THANKS!!!!
I wanted to share a little information about my baby Dahlia Throw. First of all I’m using a size H hook so the squares are turning out much smaller than my first Dahlia Throw. The kind of yarn I’m using for the centers and the very outside edge of each square is Vanna’s Choice yarn. The yarn that I’m using for the inside border around the centers is Berocco Love It yarn. I have changed my mind about making the middle part of the throw 4 squares by 5 squares and I am now adding the 6th row of squares. I haven’t decided yet about what I’ll place in the corner of the squares where they are joined. Once I decide; you know I’ll tell you about it. 😉
Oh by the way I asked Shandee Johnson the owner of Warm Fuzzies if she would like to have my Mary Jane, Little Man Loafers, and sweaters in her shop and she said “yes!” I need to take in something to display them all on and find all of my vintage baby hangers to hang the sweaters on.
I also wanted to share a few photos that I took while John and I were at her shop on Saturday. I also meant to share a link to her Facebook page so here you go and if you are interested please click on the Like button so that you can receive updates of what’s happening with her. And if you are in the Wichita area and need a cute little something for that special little one go and visit her at her shop in the Indian Hills Shopping Center at 2423 W. 13th St. Of course make sure you tell her that Tamara sent you in. Ha! Ha!
I’ve also been thinking about some other cute little accessories that I might crochet up to place in her shop…..maybe a few child size hangers that I’ll put some crochet on. Maybe even some crocheted flowers to attach to headbands. If any of you have any ideas I would love to hear about them. My weekend looks like it’s going to be busy and I have lots to do. Saturday is the KS My Stitch Officers meeting and I will be preparing my famous tacos for lunch. On Sunday I will be attending birthday parties with my Mom. It should be lots of fun; so do you have anything fun planned?
Love the little dahlia baby blanket. I was wondering about what to put in the corners and wanted to suggest little pom poms. Just an idea. Think my weekend is looking like it is going to be very laid back (just the way I wanted it).

Hi Sue,
Thanks for the suggestion of pom poms for the corners. I love that you are going to be able to have a little down time for your weekend, because you deserve it.
Love you,
Tamara

Hi Tamara, a long time ago, when I used to sell items I found that baby sweater in varigateds (so boy or girl) used to sell the best. I used the ‘My Baby’ pattern from an old Workbasket and would make earflaps on the hat and mittens for in winter, and without for summer. I put them in a friends store and they used to fly off the shelves. I also used to make the AA booties with the sneakers and so on and they always sold well. Then there are the Binky Holder Bibs, these are cute and ohh so handy. And what about toy leashes, these are great for when you walk the little ones in the stroller. A higher ticket item is Christening Gowns, I sold one once for $50 and that was 10 years ago or more. Hope this helps, hugs, Mary

Hi Mary!
Thank you so much for stopping by to give me ideas on what to make. Wow, it sounds like you did very well with selling your items. Thanks again for reading my blog and taking the time to comment.
((Hugs)),

You’re very welcome Tamara, I try to help where I can. I love all the tin covers and afghan and all that you make, though I probably don’t say so often enough-more of a lurker, lol. I love keeping up with you via your blog and want the best for you, hugs, Mary

Hey. You did not need a “reader counter” to know *I* read your blog, right along with your sis & cousins. LOL!
I am sure Shandee is as thrilled as you are, that your crocheted items will be presented for sale in her shop. [Please will you tell her “Receiving” is spelled incorrectly on her “Recieving Blanket” sign. ;-)]
WHAT!!??!! You are planning a *busy* weekend??? LOL!
Happy Birthday to all your birthday gals/guys!
And save a taco for me. HaHa!!

Hi Kat!
You are so silly, I know I don’t need a reader counter to know that you are always here. I love all your comments and look forward to what you have to say. I wish you could be here to finish up those tacos.
By the way I’ll try and remember to tell Shandee that she misspelled receiving. (I forgot while I was there on Saturday.)
Love & Hugs,
Tamara
