A few people asked about the vacuum cleaner that John was using in my last blog post. First of all I would like to tell you what John thinks about my hair. For one thing he loves my hair, but he also thinks that I’m going to lose all of it too. I still haven’t convinced him after over 20 years of being together that I’m not going to lose it all. Anyway when he remodeled our upstairs bathroom he installed a laminate flooring which we all love so much better than that ugly carpeting. (Ugh) B-u-u-t the only problem with that is he can see all the hairs that come out of my head when I blow-dry my hair on the laminated floor. I don’t want to gross anyone out but I have stayed in a hotel room with 4 other women at the same time and let me tell you, I’m not the only one that loses their hair. I’ve told John about this and he’s still not convinced. That’s enough about hair loss and on to the vacuum cleaner. I’m not ashamed to say that John is the one who vacuums our house and most of the time he’s the one who does the dishes, so when he found this really cool vacuum cleaner better known as a Hoover Wind Tunnel Platinum Lightweight Upright Vacuum with Canister he thought he had died and went to Heaven. He just keeps the little canister vacuum upstairs in our bedroom and after I leave for work he cleans all the hair up off the bathroom floor. I feel so blessed to have such a sweet husband who cleans up after me. 🙂
Monday night we had dinner with Megan and Jennifer at TJ’s Burger House. I love to watch her do her homework and I love her new haircut.
Ok, on to the crochet front. I wanted to show you the little hat that I designed to go with the Furrylicious boots that I made for a co-worker who is having a baby girl in February. It looks kind of silly when it’s not on a baby’s head, but it sure did look cute on my doll.
I made our son Daniel a hat and John was kind enough to model it for me. He’s just so photogenic; don’t you think so?
On Monday I received a special request from my other Daughter-in-Law Alesha for a hat and a pair of mittens for our Grandson, Johnny V. I got the hat done on Tuesday morning before leaving to go to work and
I started the mittens while on my lunch break. I found the free pattern on Lion Brand Yarn Company website. I think they will be very cute. Anyone else have any hairy stories to share? 🙂 I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday.
Love the little “furrylicious” hat and boots set! Love the color and the buttons are so sweet! As for hair loss, (sigh).. I don’t like what I have to pull out of my hair brush, a little more often than I’d care to admit; and I don’t have that much to begin with! Actually, a hairdresser once said that I have “a LOT of hair… It’s just baby-fine.” My best friend is also hairdresser, and I must confess, she has cringed while watching me run a brush through my hair. I’m always in a hurry, so I’m not gentle about it, doing the 100-brush-stroke thing, or starting at the bottom and work my way up, being it’s as long as it is (just below the shoulders)… Anyways, she cringes, then yells at me for ripping my hair out the way I do, so I imagine I’d have to blame myself, for most of any hair loss that I find, more than I could try to blame genetics or any other natural forces! (0; Have a great day Tamara!

Hi Tina,
I just knew there were other women out there that lose their hair like I do. I loved hearing about your hairy story and thanks for sharing it with me. 🙂
Thank you for stopping by to comment too.
Love & Hugs,
Tamara

I love to vacuum, too. 😉 How is it that we lose so much hair?!?! Ha!
Her haircut is adorable! She’s so focused.
Just love all the hats, as always. Your color combinations are so perfect–every time!

Hi Mindy,
Thank you so much for stopping by today and thank you for liking the things that I do and of course loving my Megan’s haircut too.
I knew John wasn’t the only one who loves to vacuum, now I know you do too. 😉

Yikes, Yikes, Yikes! I just spent quite a bit of time on Amazon reading about your vac … uh, JOHN’s vac. LOL! It sounds amazing! I wonder how Consumer Reports rates it. I think I just may splurge ($$) on this one next time around … even tho Frank does the vacuuming here. … And you can tell John it really is normal to shed a lot of hair daily. New ones grow in. 😉 [BTW, your bathroom is purrty.]
Megan impresses me … doing her homework at ‘the burger joint’. Good gal!!
Leave it to you to design a hat to go with the frilly boots. Can’t wait to see the hat on the baby!
John’s so silly. Did he put his hand on his face “to pose like a model”? Or maybe he did that ‘cuz he IS a model. 🙂

Kat,
Thank you so much for stopping by to comment and I love that your Frank does the vacuuming at your house just like my John. 😉
By the way, I love my bathroom too; it’s one of my favorite rooms in the house. I hated it while he was remodeling it of course, but now I love it. I just wished John would hang the hardware for my curtain rods so that I could hang my curtains. It’s only been 4 years. Maybe he’ll do both the bathroom and the kitchen at the same time. 😉
John is for the most part a ham, but then when I really want to take a good picture of him he doesn’t want to cooperate (he does something weird with his eyes or makes a funny face). He’s just too funny!!
Love & Hugs,
Tamara

Hey Tamara ~ I agree with you. From what I’ve seen in your photos, John is a certified ham. LOL!
Purrhaps a post-it (or 2 or 3 … here & there & everywhere) mentioning you have been waiting 4 yrs for your bathroom curtain rods’ hardware to be installed … would spur John on to perform another loving chore for his ever-loving YOUNG wife. 😉
[or just let him read your blog today — hahaha!!]
Love ya! ~ Kat

Hi Kat,
I can always try it and hope that it works. He would forget to look at the post-it-notes. Ha! Ha! I still love him anyway. I think the only way to get him to do it is to get his drill out and start doing it myself and then he’ll feel bad. A little reverse psychology. 😉
Love,
Tamara

love your furrylicious booties and hat-but anything you do I love. I have a hairy situation with my hair also. I loose hair in the crown area only and on the rest of my head it is so thick that my operater has to thin it with the thinning shears. I do know when I was going to weight watchers my hair got really thick and my operator said it was because I was eating 5 servings of fruit and vegtables a day. Maybe eating healthy has someting to do with it. Love you girl. Sue

Thanks Sue! You’re so sweet to like everything that I do and thank you for sharing your hair story with me. It doesn’t make me feel so bald (I mean bad). 🙂

herro! BOY DO I have hair stories! can we reminisce for a moment about alex last school year?!?!?!? boy’s kinky hair was insanity and i cleaned up after him sometimes. not saying i don’t lose my share of hair as well… because, as father needs to know, ERRBODY LOSES HERR[HAIR] ERRDAY. he maybe doesn’t seem to lose much because all [the few] of his hair follicles are grasping to his scalp for dear life. ;] i freaking love this new vacuum you have. and the pictures of all of the family makes me miss everyone so much. i hope people know i miss them so. tell them for me if i don’t get a chance. i love you, tha end!
ps. I REALLY REALLY REALLY WANT TJ’S.

Oh my gosh Chacho Aaron!!!! You reminding me of your hairy story last year made me laugh so hard. I remember when you called to tell me how your bathtub wasn’t draining and you took a paper towel and reached down in the drain and pulled out the biggest wad of kinky hair, it made me gag and laugh at the same time since I knew you were learning things that you could only learn on your own. 🙂
The hair follicle thing about your Dad’s hair is hilarious. 🙂 🙂 🙂
I love that you love our new vacuum cleaner. You should have one of these for your apartment.
Yes, we all miss you so much and I think everyone knows how much you miss them too. Your Dad and I were trying to figure out how we could send you a TJ’s hamburger and cheesey bacon fries. But knew that it wouldn’t be the same. Next time you’re home we will have to go there.
Love you so Mucho!!!
