Good Monday evening to all of you! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I hope I didn’t worry too many of you with my lateness of this post? I’ve just had a little change in my normal routine at the Gonzales’ house this weekend. Before everything that I’m about to tell you happened I made another hat; this one is for my Megan’s best friend Abby. Here goes my story; on Friday while my husband and I were sitting down to watch our normal Friday night movie my daughter called and said that she needed to go to the emergency room because she was having a bad reaction to a spider bite. I’ll try to keep this short so I ended up spending a couple of hours at the ER and another hour at the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions to help Jennifer with her reactions to a brown recluse spider bite. The doctor said that the poison was making its way through her system and that was what was causing pains to shoot from under her arms clear down to the tips of her fingers and then making them go numb. So…. being the good mother that I am I told her she was not going back to her apartment until she was feeling better and could take care of the spider situation and I wanted to keep an eye on her too. Jennifer was able to finally get some rest early Saturday morning through mid-morning and felt so much better that she decided to go to work that afternoon.
While Jennifer was gone I managed to make this cute pair of Boot Scoot-n-Boots and a vest to match. I love how they turned out; now I just need to find a little baby boy about 6 or 7 months old to try them on.
And I cooked, plus made some of this yummy almond bark munchies stuff. Now I can see why people make this and give it away; man it’s addictive. 🙂
Before I headed off to bed Jennifer called and said that she was being sent home from work because she was having an allergic reaction to the medication and her face was all swollen and red, so she came to my house and slept again.
Christmas day Jennifer was better and Megan joined us for our usual Christmas gift exchange along with my Mom.
Joshua was unable to be here in person but thanks to Skype we got to have him hang out with us while we exchanged a few gifts and
we watched as Joshua unwrapped a few that we had sent him.
There were tears all around as we watched Joshua struggle to hold himself together as he spent Christmas Home Alone in Brooklyn.
I just wished they had Skype in Heaven; I missed my Daddy being here to eat my cooking and then covering him up and giving him a kiss as he lay down to take his nap.
Anyway, Jennifer was feeling much better and was scheduled to work on Christmas afternoon, so we got to keep Megan with us. The usual time for me to do my regular blogging is Sunday afternoon and I can even go into Sunday evening. But when Megan asked me to sit with her and cuddle while we watched TV how could I resist? Blogging or Cuddling with my granddaughter? Since my lateness in blogging I know you know what I chose to do.
This morning while my two girls slept I managed to make this cute pair of pink and gray Boot Scoot-n-Boots. How about you? How did you spend your holiday weekend?
Love the boots and I hope Jenny starts to feel better soon. sw

I was not concerned about your blog arriving late ‘cuz I thought you were just having a wonderful Christmas weekend. How wrong I was! Well, it *was* wonderful, in that you had most of your fam with ya. But my goodness! Poor Jennifer!!! Those brown recluse creeps are deadly! And so can an allergic reaction to meds be!! That woman sure knows how to give her Momma some near-heart attacks …. and extra times to nurture her <– THAT part you LOVE.
I know firsthand what a bother medicine allergies can be. Once I had my first one, others followed — and I now keep my long list in my wallet.
Love seeing all these pics of Joshua on the laptop. [I'm so jealous of his thick hair!!] Also love your idea about Skype in heaven. 😉 I know this is a very tough Christmas for your family without your daddy. God bless you all.
Great hat, boots & matching vest, & little girlie boots. What WOULD we all do without our crocheting, eh?
Love ya, Tamara!

Hi Kat,
I did love nurturing my Jennifer and Megan over the weekend. I had a lot of fun just fixing their meals and watching Megan play. Jennifer is feeling much better and thank goodness she’s back to work.
Thanks for liking the things that I do and you are so right; what would we do without our crochet projects? I would probably scream 😉
As always thank you so much for stopping by to comment.
Love you,
Tamara
