Happy Wednesday everyone, I just remembered that I meant to share this with you on the last post; Miss Emma and Ducky arrived at their new home and here’s what their new owner had to say:
“HI TAMARA!!!
THEY ARRIVED!!! =^..^= And I have the pictures to prove it!! (see attached)
Oh Tamara ~~ They are soooo waaaay cuter in purrson!!! I am amazed at that. I love how soft 'n fluffy Miss Ducky is. 'Kurious Kat' would like to know what yarn was used for her. I am so pleased with these very special birthday gifts. :-* I can't get over that you put a snap on that tiny thread sweater. So purrty!!I am just bubbling over with gratitude that words cannot fully express.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!
With Love 'n Hugs 'n Purrrs..........”

My week has been busy already, Kaye Gruver who has graciously accepted the position of organizing the Charity workshop invited us over to her house on Monday to crochet around fleece that she took the time to cut, staystitch all around, and run her handy dandy rotary cutter along the edges of each piece of fleece so that we could push our hook into the holes and edge all the way around.
Here’s the one that I crocheted around; my blanket was made from the ends that Kaye had left from the 36” square pieces of fleece, then she made the holes in both pieces so that I could crochet all the way around each one and then I crocheted them together in the center. Then I edged it with a simple shell stitch. I love the way it turned out and I hope the person that receives it loves it as much as I did making it. You can go here and see all the other members’ blankets in progress.
Tuesday My Megan and Jennifer surprised me by showing up where I work. We had to make our rounds to show everyone how much she has grown and when we came to Joe;
he had to give her the world (a stress ball that had a drawing of the world on it) Ha! Ha! He also gave her one of those squishy stress balls too and said it was an octopus. Joe is so funny. He has a son who is going off to college real soon and we’ve been discussing the empty-nest syndrome that his wife has been experiencing. I do know what she’s going through, don’t I?
Anyway I had made plans to meet Jennifer and Megan at our favorite “Chidese” restaurant and we did just that. My Brother-in-Law and Sister-in-Law are here from Connecticut and my sister-in-law crocheted Jennifer, Megan, and me a prayer shawl each.
Here’s Megan’s and
here’s Jennifer’s
After we had our Chidese dinner; Jennifer and Megan came over to my house so that Megan could play with my doll and play dress up, then I blogged while she played and Jennifer napped.
Oh by the way before I forget, here’s the other flower that goes with this fabric and this way of making the flowers seemed to be harder, because I would pick up a different color of yarn to do the next round of petals and I would have to put it back because that color wasn’t in the fabric. I still love the way it looks with the fabric and YES there’s another flower in the works. Ha! Ha!
I thought you all might be interested in seeing the other side of my hair or not? I tried like crazy to get some pictures of the back of my hair, but it just doesn’t work for me as I have too short of arms,
so I had my dear husband take a picture of me. I think I look pretty sassy!!!! Ha! Ha! What have you all been up to this week? I would love to hear what you’re working on and I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week.
Hi Tamara,
Love the edging you put around the fleece. What a nice gift! Please tell me how the holes were made….I think this is a great idea.
I have been getting lots of r & r after a very busy school year and haven’t been doing as much crocheting as I would like, but I do have a couple of special projects going on that I will share with you at a later date.
Take care.
Hugs,
Merri

Merri,
Thanks for liking my edging around the blanket. Kaye used a rotary cutter that is notched evenly around and it just makes little slits as you push the blade right along the staystitched edge. I think they sell them online at Nancy’s notions or you can look up the Linus project and order them there too. They are quite expensive but in the long run it beats you having to push the hook through or an awl through all the way around 🙂
I’m so glad to hear that you have been able to have some R&R time. You deserve it! I can’t wait to see your projects and I’ve been keeping up with what you have going on over on Facebook. What a great idea. Sorry I haven’t been able to talk much though.
Love and Hugs,
Tamara

Hi Tina,
Thank you so much for stopping by to comment. I think my hairdresser would make a long-distance housecall (because she seems to love what she does) She’s still very young and I love how kind she is. Thank you for your sweet words about my flowers and fabrics. I hope you are staying cool?
Love and Hugs,
Tamara

Woo-hoo!! My Amazing Emma has become a star (well, her middle name IS ‘Stargazer’!!) on our famous & talented Tamara’s blog! The adorable crocheted gifts look so great next to her, don’t they? ;-D
Amazing how a crochet edging on fleece creates such a lovely blankie. 🙂
I like the colors of Megan’s & Jennifer’s prayer shawls. We need to see yours now (please).
I can’t believe it, Tamara!! Our telephathy is at work again! After seeing your other post showing off your new “do”, I was thinking that I really would like to see it at all angles. I’M NOT KIDDING!!! So what a gleeful surprise it is today to see you were once again listening to my mind. And I **LOVE!!** the final photo of you! [Great job, John!]
