Does anyone else out there have a friend or friends that enable their hobbies? This is what I found on my porch on Wednesday evening when I returned home from work. I can hardly wait to dig into this little stash of heaven. Thank you so much Steph, you are so kind to think of me while cleaning out your stash and your little gesture made my day so much better:)
This is what I’ve been doing this week. I got hooked on these little Kimono sweaters thanks to my friend Rosina. For this one I decided to use a denim color Red Heart Eco-Cotton yarn and for the edging I chose the same kind of yarn except in a white and a tan tweed and an extra row of reverse single crochet all around with brown. I think the reverse single crochet makes it look more masculine than any other edgings do. When I first start out making the reverse single crochet it seems hard (duh you’re going backwards) Ha! Ha! But once you get the hang of it, it goes pretty fast.
I also started another little kimono sweater in this really pretty green. I wish my camera would pick up how pretty and limey green this yarn really is. Anyway, the yarn is Yarn Bee Snowflake Wool Blend and the colors name is Limelight. I have a little different yarn in mind to make the edging with and can hardly wait to show you. But I’m not going to show you now, because it may not work. What’s everyone else up to this week? I hope everyone has a great weekend and I would love to hear what your plans are for the weekend?
Oooooh, I like that lime green yarn too! Very pretty, and I love that style for a baby sweater! As for what I’m doing over the weekend?.. I don’t know yet! We most always play it by ear… Hoping YOUR weekend is a nice one! ~tina

Those kimonos are really neat looking, yet it was your friend’s thoughtfulness that really sparked my interest this morning. What a sweetheart!
My daughter has two basketball games back to back this weekend, then in the evening she goes with her Girl Scout troop to Bunk with the Beasts at the zoo. The rest of us will most likely try to dodge rain drops as it’s been very rainy this whole week and will continue into the weekend. (although as I type this, the sun is making a guest appearance)
Have a great weekend, Tamara

I love your lime green sweater, Tamara. I am glad you found your care package – and yes, I have friends that enable my hobbies! That is how the stash gets so big that it must be sorted and shared!
Have a good weekend. I am continuing to clean, sort and unpack – with occasional break to decorate.

Joshua,
I’m so sorry that you had such a bad experience with one of the so called supervisors. I hate to tell you this, but no matter where you work there will always be someone like that man. Hopefully you will be able to tolerate it for as long as you need to. Talk to you soon.
Love you,
Momma

I do love the way the boy jacket turned out. I shall have to give in and make one. I finished a couple projects during the long, 5-6 hour car trip we took to Arkansas this last weekend for four wheeling with friends.
Question- the soft alpaca blanket I made doesn’t want to stay tied. I did three knots and am ready to hide the joining tails. I think I shall use some matching sewing thread and secure the knots. The yarn is just too soft. I think fabric glue would get stiff. Have you ever noticed anything like that?

Susie,
In answer to your question; yes I have had this same problem and yes I have used some matching sewing thread and stitched the ends down with it.
I think you will like making the little sweaters too.

Tamara
