What I’m Thankful For

First of all I’m thankful for God and what he has brought to my life.

Next I’m thankful that my Mom and Daddy are still here with us.

Then I’m thankful for my Husband John who never ceases to make me laugh and also makes me cry and sometimes at the same time. (and who will kill me when he finds out I posted this picture of him)

Then I’m thankful for my beautiful daughter Jennifer who reminds me so much of me, not in looks but in all of her actions. She’s just like me.

Then I’m thankful for my son Joshua who makes me smile, laugh, and cry all at the same time. I’m very thankful to my Brother-in-Law and Sister-in-Law who will be feeding my Joshua on Thanksgiving and loving him this weekend.

I’m also thankful that I have 2 wonderful sons and daughter-in-laws and regret that I don’t get to see them often enough.

I’m also very thankful for grandchildren. They all make me smile and very happy. I’m thankful for my sister and her husband and her children who are just like my own. I’m also thankful for my 3 brothers and their families. I’m very thankful that I have lots of people in my life that I can call friends.

I’m thankful for friends and fellow guild members who have come together to make the scarf and sock charity project work. They will come together to provide 85 scarves and 85 pairs of socks for Christmas to women who are less fortunate than we are. As of Monday we have 66 scarves and 58 pairs of socks. We will reach our goal! I’m very thankful that my daughter is cooking the turkey tomorrow and I have 4 days off in a row. I will be spending my Thanksgiving at home with my husband, daughter, and granddaughter this year and plan on eating way too much, resting, and crocheting. I’m also thankful for all of my friends out there in Blogland. I love each one of you and want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and a very safe weekend. How about you? What are you thankful for and how are you going to spend your Thanksgiving holiday?

  1. Lovely post, Tamara! You definitely have lots and lots to be thankful for and the best part is you know and celebrate that! Enjoy your holiday weekend! Can’t wait to see what you accomplish.

My thankful list includes my family, my home and good friends. And the ability to create fun things with my own two hands. It’s so satisfying.

    Happy Thanksgiving

    • Jeanne,

Thank you for sharing the things that you are thankful for too. Thanks for stopping by and commenting too. I love all the things that you create.

      Hugs,

  2. My sister and I started, several years ago, having our big gathering the weekend before Thanksgiving because our sons and brothers live several hours away and we always had to share them with the in laws. We could never get all of them home at the same time. Now we get nearly all of them nearly every year. This year we had ALL of them. It was WONDERFUL!! I loved seeing my big back yard full of playing children; that was the most fun of all.

    • Barbara,

I love hearing all about your traditions and I’m so glad that you had a wonderful time with your family. Thanks for sharing with me.

      Hugs,
      Tamara

  3. Oh Tamara, how very blessed you are!!! I will be VERY busy over the next FEW days, as I will be cleaning and baking today, then tomorrow I will be the happy hostess for Thanksgiving breakfast, as we watch the traditional Macy’s parade in the morning!.. The family scatters from there, so Friday is when I will be serving a big turkey dinner with all the fixin’s!… And Heaven help me, as much as I hate the weight gain I’ve put on in JUST THIS PAST YEAR… I plan on eating WAY too much as well!!! (0; LOL! THEN, maybe on Saturday, I’ll rest! (or exercise!! I haven’t decided yet!)… God bless.. Wishing you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy! ~tina

    • Pam,

I missed you too. I hope you have recovered from your accident. I know it takes a while to get back into the swing of things when you return from market, huh? I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and I wished we were neighbors too!!!

  5. Wonderful post. We all need reminding of how much we have to be thankful of. I am going to laugh as much as possible at thanksgiving dinner, probably with gravy on my chin.
    Much love,
    Steph

    • Steph,

I can’t wait to hear all about your weekend with gravy on your chin. You take care and don’t work too hard.

  6. Hi Sis! I’m Very Thankful & Joyful that God choose me to be your sister. What a treasure you are to so many! I have not had time to crochet a scarf but Would love to ask my small sewing /bookclub about helping in some way , would that be OK?
We would like to put into a clear zip bag with a couple of goodies?
I’ll visit with them and let you know.
    Just Thankful !

    • Jackie,

Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I know this week has been really hard for you and your family, so please don’t worry about making a scarf. We will have plenty. I’m sure whatever you come up with to give to Tree House will be wonderful. Take care and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

      Love your Sister,
      Tamara

  7. Such a lovely post, Tamara. I feel all cuddly inside when I read about all of your thankfulness. As for myself, I am thankful for the Lord God and His helping me to know & love my Savior Christ Jesus almost 20 yrs ago. I am grateful to have my husband-of-almost-(yikes!!)-41 yrs — and our two daughters & 6 grandchildren. This year I am extremely thanking God for my sweet little-but-growing-fast 4½-mo kitten Emma Stargazer. And certainly I am very, very grateful that God gave me the desire — and then the passion — to crochet in March 2008. AND!!! I AM GRATEFUL TO HAVE YOU AS MY FRIEND!!!!!

    • Kat,

I love hearing all about what you’re thankful for, and I’m very grateful to have you as a friend too.

      Love,
      Tamara
